Train

Training goes beyond the presentation of good business theory through lectures. Our methodology of active participation, discovery and practical application ensures that participants do not just learn a lot of new theory, but actually acquire business skills.

As Nizar Balla a Syrian refugee trained in Lebanon shared:

“This program gave me ideas that I never thought about before. I learned how to write a business plan, how to keep a cash book and how to promote a product.”

Veronica’s Story

Veronica

Veronica

It’s hard to imagine the transition I saw before my eyes. Veronica (pictured above) used to sell vegetables in the Kipkaren village market. But this young mother hardly ever made a profit.

During the course at Kipkaren, Kenya Veronica learned skills that have turned her small business into a success. It has also made a remarkable difference in how she views herself.

Due to her lack of education, Veronica was at first very hesitant and insecure. Recordkeeping was overwhelming to her. I sat down and taught her a few simple principles, and watched her grow in confidence as she stepped up and even assisted classmates with their cashbooks!

I love that about the DBSP program! Not only do we provide people with the skills they need to be able to successfully operate small businesses and break the cycle of poverty; it also allows them to discover the gifts God has given them.
